Most people arrive here because a form refuses a file. Job portals, government sites and email often cap an upload at a size such as 100 KB. Turn on Target size, type the limit, and the compressor lowers the JPG or WebP quality step by step, then the dimensions if quality alone is not enough, until the file is at or under the number you asked for.

A very small target on a large, detailed photo will show: that is a physical trade-off, not a fault. Three things keep it looking good:

• JPG or WebP for photos. They compress photographs far smaller than PNG, so they reach a 100 KB target with the least visible loss.
• PNG only for simple graphics. A photo saved as PNG stays large; convert it with the image format converter first, or pick JPG or WebP as the output here.
• Dimensions before quality. A camera photo is usually far bigger than the form needs. Enter a smaller width in Resize, or resize it first, and the same target keeps much more detail.
